A great assembly today at Robert Ogilvie Elementary School.  We celebrated raising over $2000 for the Terry Fox Foundation. Thank you to the students, staff, parents, and PAC for bringing donations to support cancer research.  We have been learning about kindness, friendship, compassion and upstanding behaviour during our October assemblies.  Today, Captain Upstander joined us at the assembly.  He gave the student various examples of upstanding behaviour and encouraged students to be good friends to students outside and inside.  Captain Upstander also joined the students at recess time and encouraged them to be good friends. If you are curious about what being an upstander means, check out the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eeqQCyQOCPg .   Video

PJ Day Thursday, December 5th, 2013
Help us collect PJ’s and mittens for donations in our community. Â This will help many families over Christmas. Â We are wearing pjs tomorrow to help with our celebration and collection. Â PJ’s and mitts can be dropped off at our school at the main office.
Students are also trying to help the Grinch grow his heart . Students are being encouraged to be good citizens and do acts of kindness. Â Each act of citizenship or kindness noted by students or staff will be represented by a “House Team Coloured” heart. If the Grinch in each end of the school is covered with hearts, hopefully The Grinch’s heart will grow enough to have a celebration.
Bringing Christmas kindness to all in our school and community is a great thing to do.
