Wednesday, August 21st, 2013:
Welcome back everyone! Â It seems that summer has passed rather quickly this year and with the new school year arriving, there are noticeable changes to our weather, children, length of day and the routines of back to school. Â In the next week, please look for a full newsletter coming either through the mail or email. The newsletter will also be available on our website. Â We hope that you have had a remarkable summer and are looking forward to hearing your stories in September.
The first day of school for Grade 1-6 students is Tuesday, September 3rd. Â The warning bell rings at 8:40 a.m. Â Due to a number of staff and room changes this year, we ask that all students wait outside on the basketball court area and line up by the pylon with their last year’s class. Â These will be sorted from grade 1 to grade 6. Â Please look for your previous classroom teacher’s name on the pylon and wait for either that teacher to greet you or for the new teacher to greet you. Â We have moved some rooms inside the building to different locations to we feel it will be easier and less traumatic for students to line up outside and enter with their teacher and classmates. Â We ask that all new students come to the office and we will assign you a classroom at that time. Â Dismissal on the first day will be at 10:42 a.m.
On Wednesday, students will go back to the same classroom for the morning session. Â If we have class lists composed at that time, students will be assigned their new classes by lunch and will go to their new teacher and classroom. Â We will make sure that lists are posted inside the school by the end of the day so that parents will be able to drop by and meet the new teacher.
Mrs, Scheck, Mr. Peterson and Mrs. Knott will be in the office on Monday, August 26th beginning at 8:00 a.m. Â New registrations can be done anytime the last week of August.
Kindergarten students and parents will be receiving a phone call from one of our kindergarten teachers the first week of September to set up visitations and discuss transition plans to Kindergarten. Â All kindergarten students will begin full time by Wednesday, September 11th. Â On behalf of the staff and students, we wish you a great 2013-2014 School Year. Â We are looking forward to a new playground, new friends, and great learning opportunities.
