Assembly at 9:00 a.m.

Please join us for our First Term Awards Assembly at 9:00 a.m.  Students will be presented with awards in the intermediate grades for: Academic, Citizenship and Work Ethic. We will also be presenting our Volleyball awards.

For the month of December, our virtue of the month will be Citizenship.  We look forward to seeing students practice citizenship in a variety of ways.  We thank Ms. Leed’s class and Mrs. Logeman’s class for demonstrating citizenship for us by starting the Mitten Tree and the PJ Drive.  Students will have an opportunity to participate in a PJ Day on Thursday, December 5th to celebrate PJ Day with the City of FSJ.  All PJ’s collected will be going to worthy homes.  House points will be given for all students wearing PJ’s on Thursday.

Thank you to the PAC for a great Winter Bazaar. This is a great way to demonstrate being good citizens. Thank you to all the students who assisted in the set up and clean up for the winter bazaar.  You are being good role models to others.

Other ways to practice being a good citizen this month include: supporting the food bank drive, helping with recycling, cleaning up the classroom, making sure to put up your boots in the boot room, helping other students who are hurt or injured outside.

The Grinch:  Look for two large Grinches in our hallways in the coming weeks.  Notice how many hearts in house team colours are adorning the Grinch in each hallway.  Each heart will represent an act of kindness or citizenship in the month of December.  If we can cover each Grinch, the school will have a celebration on the last day of school.

The weather has again turned nasty outside.  It is very slippery and dark.  Students who arrive prior to 8:00 a.m. need to ensure that they stick together in the primary mud room.  This entrance is open and students can wait quietly inside until 8:10 a.m.
