Our students enjoyed the Regional Science Fair. Congratulations to Trystin Clarkson who won the Michael Crooks Physics Prize and to Colson Fellers who won the Chevron Canada Award which is Honorable Mention for a grade 7 or 8 project. Colson was also selected to be one of five students representing Northern B.C.
Jump Rope for Heart
We are looking forward to participating in Jump Rope for Heart on Wednesday, March 11. Each class will have an opportunity to exercise their heart during the day by skipping or doing step aerobics. Students are encouraged to bring coins in a fun fundraiser for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Our goal this year is to raise $500. See the letter that was sent home below.
Reading Challenge
This month we are challenging all students to read each evening (or be read to for primary students) and to record the minutes of reading. Each class will see if they can move their spacecraft across the solar system from the Sun to Neptune. Check the attachments below to read more information about the contest. Also provided is a copy of the calendar for recording reading minutes for each of the three weeks of the contest. Let’s encourage reading and see how far we can travel!
